Blogathon#Day 31- A Tree grows in Brooklyn

It is an awful lot of time since I have read a book that I truly enjoyed..I chanced upon the pdf version of this book ” A Tree grows in Brooklyn” which I had read through last weekend and today

The book has few beautiful quotes on life and love..Sharing one quote that I liked..

Who wants to die? Everything struggles to live. Look at that tree growing up there out of that grating. It gets no sun, and water only when it rains. It’s growing out of sour earth. And it’s strong because its hard struggle to live is makinug it strong. My children will be strong that way

The story has relatable strong female characters who struggle and raise beyond poverty and hardships.

Overall a memorable read which I would go back to again and again!

Blogathon # Day 29 – One of those days..

Today is one of those days in which

– how much ever I try to close things at work, there is a pending list in the evening..

– I got a tummy upset..Probably due to hogging on too many stuff over the weekend.

– I am simply tired.

Ah..Today is Monday as well.. Hope your Monday was better! C ya folks!

Blogathon #Day 26-Happy Republic Day

India celebrates her 69th republic day today..When Rahul Gandhi tells that we are a “Banana republic” we make fun of him..But unfortunately that is the state of affairs in the country..Instead of the ideal democracy that was envisioned by the makers of this country, we are merely a republic driven by vote bank politics and few industries such as the IT sector ..Despite the sorry state of affairs, the republic day parade was a pride to watch as it is every time..

A foggy delhi, the netas , the display by the army and the array of display by different states and different ministries was a sight to watch..

I loved it when the Gujarat tableaux came up and this song was sung..

Blogathon#Day 25-An interesting evening

Yesterday I went to a gala dinner of a medico conference accompanying the partner..It was hosted at the house of a leading surgeon in India..There was a ballet dance performance for entertainment and a nice buffet with live dosa and appam counter..

Could see medicos around the world..some intellectual..some street savy and some social..some wanabees..some who had come for the free drinks..It also had its peppering of politicians ,the very rich and the one’s in power..The partner kept introducing names to me and it was like a kalyaama veedu with the only one asks “Do you remember me?” It was a good entertaining evening overall..
